pleasantville-3

As the Trojans prepare for the state qualifier on Thursday at ACGC, many of their athletes will see their final action of 2020. However, Pleasantville has the chance to have three solid runners make it to state this year.

Senior Hailee McCormick has been the top girls runner for the Trojans in every meet this season. Her best finish came on September 14th during their home meet, when she finished fifth. She wound up 17th in her last meet, but only two-and-a-half minutes separated her and first place. A solid performance this week could see her break through.

Fellow senior Emmie Kenyon has been the other leader for the Trojan girls, having consistent finishes in the early to mid twenties. The difference between her and McCormick is often less than 90 seconds, so the teammates could inspire each other to break through to state.

On the boys side, Devon Luing is a standout that has seen the top ten all but four times in 2020. The junior will have multiple shots at state as his senior year is likely to see his finishes improve, perhaps even winning some meets. His fellow runner, Jenkin Fulmer, will be along his side as a junior next year when he will be eligible to qualify for state.

Thursday’s festivities begin at 4:00 on Thursday.
