While the high school wrestling season does not start for another couple of weeks, our area teams know their road to the state meet this season. Pella remains in class 3A with the Little Dutch traveling to Iowa City West in district five joining the host Trojans along with Oskaloosa, Burlington, Fort Madison, Iowa City High, Iowa City Liberty, and Ottumwa on Saturday February 13th. Knoxville is in class 2A and will host a sectional on February sixth. The Panthers will also welcome PCM along with Ballard, Bondurant-Farrar, North Polk, and Saydel. Those who advance out of the sectional will compete in the district on February 13th at ADM. Indianola is in class 3A and will head west to Council Bluffs Abe Lincoln along with the newest member of the KNIA Sports Family Norwalk on February 13th for district competition. Both the Indians and Warriors will be joined by the host Lynx along with Carroll, Council Bluffs Thomas Jefferson, Denison, Lewis Central, and West Des Moines Valley. Pleasantville is in class 1A and will travel to the Colfax-Mingo Sectional on February sixth. The Trojans along with the host Tiger-Hawks will be joined by Collins/Maxwell, I-35, Lynnville-Sully, Martensdale-St. Mary’s, and Southeast Warren, who also shares with Melcher-Dallas. Those who advance from the sectional in Colfax-Mingo advance to the district on February 13th at Pleasantville.
