The Indianola boys track and field team honored their senior class at the Indian relays Thursday afternoon, placing second in the meet with 155.5 points. Top finishers for the Indians boys included:

100m – Carter Erickson – 1st
1600 – Curtis Johnson – 1st
400 Hurdles – Logan Piper – 2nd
Discus – Walker Whalen – 1st
High Jump – Joseph DeWall – 3rd
4×100 Relay – 1st
4×200 Relay – 2nd
4×400 Relay – 2nd
4×800 – 2nd
Sprint Medley – 2nd

Indians senior Logan Grover said this year means more than ever after not being able to compete last year.

“I think we all had to find our own things to do to stay in shape to get ready, but I think all of us are definitely doing more than we ever have in the past because we know how special it can be.”

The Indianola girls competed in some JV action at the Ankeny Hawkette Invitational Thursday evening, in addition to several varsity throwers. Macy Mays and Julie Coffey finished first and second in the discus throw and Mays finished second in the shot put.
