indianola-3

Coming off of their worst stretch of the season losing their last three contests, the Indianola boys basketball team had their work ahead of them on the road at Little Hawkeye Conference foe Dallas Center-Grimes. The Indians fell to the Mustangs earlier in the year on their home court 52-42, and the game previously suffered their worst defeat of the season to Pella Christian 74-57.

The Indians and Mustangs traded buckets early on, with Indianola facing a 41-37 halftime deficit, but took the lead late in the third and with the score tied at 65 with just seconds remaining, junior guard Cooper Nailor took a charge to force overtime, where Drew Kingery made free throws with just seconds remaining to seal the victory.

The Indians went on to rattle off eight more wins to end the regular season, going all the way to the substate semifinal against Ankeny Centennial.
