pleasantville-3

With three meets under their belt, Pleasantville’s wrestling squad keeps showing what makes them a great program.

Three meets into the season, the Trojans have a 4-2 dual record and a third-place finish at the Coach Riley Invitational last Saturday, behind Clarinda and Marion County foe Knoxville. Pleasantville has dual wins over PCM, Martensdale-St. Mary’s, Southeast Warren, and Moravia. The Trojans continue to rise to the level of stiff competition that they have faced so far in the early season. Coach Heath DeForest says that he is very impressed with his team’s performance to begin the season, but knows that there is still room for improvement.

“I’m really happy with some parts of our team and the coach in me is not happy with some other parts of our team. Maybe even if I think we are doing pretty well, I always say, ‘get better and it doesn’t matter what your record is, or if you’re Varsity or JV. We are always looking to get better.”

Pleasantville’s next tournament will be Saturday when the team travels east to Thornburg for the Tri-County Invitational.
