The 2022 Legislative Session will be the last for District 40 State Senator Ken Rozenboom, who announced his retirement in December following the redistricting process.

Rozenboom says in his final months with a vote in the Iowa Senate, he’d most like to see progress on Iowa’s bottle bill — he drafted a proposal last session that would allow grocery and convenience stores to opt out of accepting empty beverage containers, if an authorized redemption center is within 20 miles, among other provisions.

Additionally, Rozenboom would like to see potential legislation from the Governor’s office and the Iowa Senate in regards to expanding school choice.

The 2nd Iowa Legislative Session of the 89th General Assembly begins on January 10th.
