After a rough opener last Friday, the Dutch are aiming for a week two bounce back on the road to Alleman when they take on North Polk this evening in non-district football action.
Pella (0-1) is set to face off with the #8 in 3A Comets (1-0) and are seeking a better overall performance after giving up 440 yards on defense and 44 points to the high-flying Norwalk Warriors, while the home team seeks their first-ever win against the green and white after a balanced week one win over DCG 20-16.
Head Coach Jay McKinstrey believes his team learned a lot about needing to play at a higher level overall, and he’s hopeful that will translate into a bit more success in week two.
The Dutch will aim to contain North Polk Running Back Brady Miller, who had 140 yards from scrimmage and two scores and a two-Quarterback offense led by Reggie Postel and Isaac Zoske.
Coverage of Pella at North Polk football begins at 6:30 this evening on the KRLS2 stream, with an early 7:00 kickoff.
