twin-cedars-melcher-dallas-showdown-rivalry

The Bluegrass Conference basketball Tournament pairings have been announced and the Twin Cedars girls, as expected need only to win one game to advance to the semi-finals for the second straight season. The Sabers will host the winner of a 1st round matchup between Lamoni and Orient-Macksburg on Monday night with the winner of that game advancing to the semi-finals at Murray on Thursday. The boys will have a much more difficult road to the semis as the Sabers have drawn first round game Saturday at Lamoni. The winner will take on top seed Moravia on Tuesday. The Melcher-Dallas boys have drawn a quarterfinal matchup against Murray on Tuesday. The Saints defeated the Mustangs in their two team’s last meeting on January 10th. A Saints win would match up them with top seed Moravia, who the Saints play on Friday night in a regular season game. For the girls, the Saints were not able to avoid a Saturday 1st round game but the Saints will get to host at their temporary home of Southeast Warren against Moulton-Udell. Melcher-Dallas handled the Eagles last Friday 40-18. A Saints win would give them a trip to Twin Cedars to take on Mormon Trail, who they just played and lost to on Tuesday. The semi-finals and finals will be played at Murray next weekend.
