The PCM volleyball team fell in straight sets to #12 Mid-Prairie Thursday night in a Class 3A Region 6 semifinal match to close out their 2023 season. 

The Mustangs dropped the first set 25-12 and weren’t able to pick up much momentum after that against a strong Golden Hawks squad. Mid-Prairie took set two 25-15 and set three 25-16 to complete the sweep. PCM coach Sarah De Vries said that despite the loss her team put up a good fight and played with confidence. 

“When we play with confidence and attack the net our back row is so confident. When they just get back there and dig and know they can do it so that helps us a lot. We made a couple ball handling errors and mental errors but overall I thought we fought hard for this one.”

The Mustangs finished their 2023 season with an 18-14 overall record.
