Area city council and school board elections are today.

Candidates for city council in the cities of Ackworth, Bevington, Bussey, Cumming, Hamilton, Harvey, Marysville, Milo, New Virginia, Sandyville, St. Marys and Swan will all run unopposed. In Lacona, Norwalk, and Pleasantville, five candidates filed to fill the three at-large spots on their councils.

For school board elections, Southeast Warren has three candidates running unopposed for the three open district spots. Melcher-Dallas, Pleasantville, and Twin Cedars each have four candidates running for three at-large positions. At Martensdale-St. Marys, there are two contested races for districts four and five and Norwalk has six candidates running for three at-large positions.
