After a mild weekend settles in to the region, much cooler conditions are expected into the holiday. According to the National Weather Service, daytime highs in the 50s will drop by the beginning of next week. A chance of rain will come with a cold front Monday, although widespread precipitation is unlikely. Afternoon temperatures in the 40s and eventually the 30s, with overnight lows in the 20s, will gradually become the norm well into the end of the month; however, relief for drought is unlikely during that time.
