Notably cooler temperatures will settle into the region through the weekend. Skies should clear later tonight with high pressure settling into the Missouri Valley. This will keep the forecast dry, but also allow for overnight lows to dip into the upper 20s to mid 30s for several days, according to the National Weather Service. This could very well lead to frost or freezing conditions over much of the state during the early morning hours through the weekend. Frost Advisories and Freeze Warnings have already been issued for much of the state tonight, with additional advisories and warnings likely Friday and Saturday nights. Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold.
