The Pella Public Library Board of Trustees will meet to further discuss and take possible action regarding digital services to rural Marion County cardholders at a special meeting Tuesday.

The session comes one week after both the Board of Trustees and Marion County Board of Supervisors discussed action made in April to freeze online resource use for Pella Public Library users who live outside of the city limits.

Pella Library Director Mara Strickler says the reason behind the reduction of service was that the cost for Hoopla in particular had nearly doubled, and this, coupled with a funding reduction by the Board of Supervisors and a declining of support of those uses by the Friends of the Pella Library ultimately called for an end to those online services being available outside of the city limits.
