Dealing with a significant amount of rainfall this summer, the Marion County Road Department has been forced to adjust road construction projects and plans.
Marion County Engineer Tyler Christian says that the biggest impacts of the heavy rainfall totals across the county have been seen on the road department’s gravel stabilization projects.
“We’ve done two of the ten miles that we had planned this summer, and that’s largely due to the rain. We got some rains in May and June, when we were starting those projects that delayed things, and we’re just now kind of finishing up the very first one of those projects.”
