The Knoxville Volleyball Squad will hold its invitational on Saturday and it is a strong field of eight teams that will make up the event. Of the eight all of them have an above 500 record and four of the eight are ranked including Class 4A #14 Ballard, who is coached by former Panther Volleyball Player Erica (Fee) Dunkin, class 1A #2 Holy Trinity, who Knoxville defeated at Pella last week, class 2A #8 Pella Christian and class 3A #13 Roland-Story. Add to that field Albia and 18-1 North Mahaska, and Union, who is 31-11. Coach Mollie Keitges says this is a field full of good teams.

Keitges: “Pella Chrisatian and Albia are two teams we already have played, Holy Trinity will be a team we will face before our tournament, Roland-Story, who’s having a great season, North Mahaska, who has put together a great season as well. We talk about wanting to compete at our tournament, but we also have a goal of winning it.”

The South Court Pool will consist of Knoxville, Ballard, Roland-Story and North Mahaska. The North Court Pool will be Pella Christian, Albia, Union and Holy Trinity. Knoxville has not won its invitational in over two decades, matches are set to begin at 8:30.
