Jasper County’s Secondary Roads Department will hold the first of four public informational meetings on gravel road maintenance in Prairie City Tuesday night. The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. and will be held at the Prairie City Community Building. Jasper County Engineer Mike Frietsch has changed the approach to gravel roads this year, He says Secondary Roads workers will go back and try to resurface every Level “A” granular road with a similar amount of rock and bring them all to a similar condition.
“We are going to try and level set things this year. We are going to focus on resurfacing and blading. We are going to focus on getting this rock down early.
Frietsch would like to have the new rock on the roads by the middle of this month.
The three other public informational meetings on gravel road maintenance in Jasper County will be held March 18th at Lynnville City Hall, March 20th at Baxter City Hall, and March 25th at Amboy Grange in Kellogg. All three will begin at 6:30 p.m.
