The City of Newton is looking to spend just over $100,000 on kitchen equipment for the new clubhouse at the City owned Westwood Golf Course. Newton City Administrator Matt Muckler says bids for this equipment were sought and received from two companies in Des Moines. The low quote, which included shipping, was from Bolton & Hay for an amount not to exceed $103,333, while the other quote from TriMark was $111,213. The equipment includes but is not limited to a walk-in cooler, two conveyor pizza ovens, stainless steel prep/work tables and shelving units, and a sandwich/salad prep refrigerator table. The Newton City Council will be asked to approve the purchase of the kitchen equipment at their next meeting on Monday.
According to Muckler, the completion date for the new 100’ x 60’ Westwood Clubhouse is now May 15th.
