Newton Public Library Director Nicole Terry says the first stage of renovations to the children’s library section has been completed. According to Terry, that included removing computer carrels, relocating bins, removing and relocating electrical and data lines, and moving catalog stations.
In April, the Newton Public Library Director expects new shelving to be delivered and installed. She says staff is currently relabeling and relocating books. The library has also ordered new furniture for the children’s catalog stations, which Terry says will be bright and kid friendly. The Newton Public Library also plans to sell the old picture book bins to other libraries in Iowa.
