The current principal in Kremmling, Colorado will be relocating to Newton in a few months to begin work as the assistant principal at Berg Middle School in late July. Jennifer Hooks was officially hired by the Newton Board of Education at last week’s school board meeting. Laura Selover, the Director of Human Resources for the Newton School District, says Hooks has a strong background in education, counseling, and leadership, and brings a wealth of experience to support students, staff, and families. She’s currently the K-12 principal for the West Grand School District in Kremmling, a northern Colorado community of just under 1,500 residents northwest of Denver.

Selover says Hooks has over nine years of experience in education as a principal and a school

Counselor. During that time, Selover says Hooks has played a key role in student support services, academic planning, and behavior interventions. She holds a Master’s in School Counseling and Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Southeastern Oklahoma State University and a Bachelor’s in Technical Management from DeVry University.
