Knoxville Girls Tennis Opens Up With A Dominate Win Over SE Polk
Girls tennis made its season debut and won impressively against Southeast Polk 10-1. The Panthers won five of six singles matches including #1 Janie Maasdam winning her match also winning in singles was Iselynn Prevo at #2, Marlea Cox at #3, Bridgette Liston at #5 and Addy Dunkin at #6. Knoxville swept the doubles matches going 5/5 in those match ups. Coach Nick DeMoss is excited about the depth of the team this season.
DeMoss: “Our two, three, four and five are right there together. I’m looking forward to getting out and competing against teams to see how we stack up.”
Knoxville will host Centerville on Thursday.
Knoxville Girls Soccer Falls To Pella Christian
The Knoxville Girls Soccer Squad hosted Pella Christian on Monday at Randy Wilson Track and it was all Eagles winning 7-1. Knoxville did get on the board in the 2nd half when Natalie Irving found the back of the net with 26:26 left in the match.
Knoxville Boys Soccer Tastes Defeat For The First Time This Season
The Knoxville Boys Soccer Squad lost for the first time this season, 1-0 to Oskaloosa. The Indians got a score in the 2nd half and made it stand up. Knoxville had several chances to even the match but could not find the net. Knoxville is now 0-1-2 and will host Albia on Thursday.
