A Des Moines man was arrested in Pella last week on one felony charge of forgery.

On February 19th, 42-year-old Gregory Tutrow Jr. allegedly entered Leighton State Bank in Pella with a forged $1,500 check in his name, which he then attempted to cash. Tutrow was identified as the accused suspect by bank employees that checked his photo identification and by his probation parole officer through security footage. During a phone conversation with law enforcement, Tutrow is accused of lying and stating that it was a payroll check and a check for selling a motor, before later changing his statement to say that an unknown male asked him to cash the check in return for pay.

Tutrow had his preliminary hearing and arraignment on Thursday, where he entered a plea of not guilty to forgery, a class D felony.
