The Knoxville Raceway will open for the racing season next Friday and Saturday with the World of Outlaws Nos Energy Drink Sprint Cars making their first of two visits. This is the first time in many years the Outlaws have opened the season for Knoxville and one driver who not only is trying to win back-to-back titles but knows what it takes to run the grind of the long schedule is David Gravel. Gravel tells KNIA/KRLS Sports pressure is what you make it and he has learned not to give himself too much.

Gravel: “When it does, maybe some points battles or you qualify bad, it ramps up a bit. But that’s like at work, you take it as it goes, and don’t get too high or too low and keep as level head as you can.”

Gravel currently leads the World of Outlaws points going into this weekend’s stop at I-55 Raceway Park in Pevley, Missouri. KNIA will have flag-to-flag coverage of next weekend’s action and all sprint car action from the Knoxville Raceway.
