The Knoxville School Board approved the district’s 2025-2026 certified budget at their meeting on Monday.

This is for the adoption of the budget and taxes for the fiscal year which will start on July 1st, 2025 and last until June 30th, 2026. There was a public hearing before the meeting for the certified budget in which there were no oral or written comments. School Business Manager Craig Mobley says lowering the property tax rate was a highlight for this upcoming year’s budget.

“A highlight of ours is that we were able to drop our property tax rate by a nickel per $1,000 in assessed value. Our goal is to not have any big swings in our property tax rates and try to do the best we can to maintain and lower it when we can. We owe that to our property tax payers.”

The budget passed unanimously at the meeting.
