100+ Men Red Rock presented their quarterly donations to two Pella based non-profit organizations on Thursday.

Organizations that receive the donations from 100+ Men are voted on at the group’s quarterly meetings, and the non-profit that receives the most votes gets a $10,000 donation while the organization that receives the second highest amount of votes gets the remaining funds donated. Together For Good received the most votes and got the $10,000 donation on Thursday, while Pella Historical Museums and Tulip Time was awarded a donation of $3,025. Together For Good is a ministry based in Minnesota, but extended into the Pella area in 2022. The organization’s mission is to come alongside families during a difficult season and provide support to families in need. Iowa Director Ashley Baker says that the donation will help with staffing to help them achieve their mission.

“So one of the key things that all donations coming into Together For Good covers is our professional staff. A really important piece of the work we do is making sure that our volunteers and our participants are really well cared for, and so we have those social workers on staff and we have that professional, compassionate team that oversees everything to make sure that everybody’s being taken care of. A lot of the funds that we receive go directly toward paying for them, because the more staff that we can have on the more families we can serve.”

Pella Historical Museums & Tulip Time serves to preserve and promote the history and Dutch heritage of Pella. They have also been the primary sponsor and organizer of Tulip Time since the second festival in 1936. Executive Director Jessi Galligan says that the donation will help with a variety of necessities for Tulip Time.

“It takes so many resources, I mean, from paying for the bleachers, paying for the sound system, float maintenance and upkeep, and paying people to sit at barricades every day and make sure cars don’t come into the parade space, it takes a lot and people don’t realize everything that goes into it. So, this contribution will go toward. things like that, some of those behind the scenes things that people don’t always have at the top of their mind.”
