
The Pleasantville baseball and softball teams each won two games Saturday.
The #2 ranked Trojan baseball team competed at the Crusaders Baseball Invite hosted by Coon Rapids-Bayard. Pleasantville picked up a 12-2 win over the #5 in Class 1A ranked Crusaders and a 12-8 win over #8 in Class 1A ranked Bedford. Against Bedford JJ Phillips got the win on the mound going 2 ⅓ innings giving up no runs. The Trojans had ten hits as a team as Braylon Bingham went 2-4 with a home run and two RBI, Brayden Kennedy went 2-4 with a home run and two RBI, Easton Cox went 3-4 with a home run and four RBI and Noah Rist had a hit with a home run.
Against the Crusaders, Easton Cox and Noah Rist pitched a combined no hitter. Cox got the win on the mound going 4 ⅔ innings. The Trojans had 11 hits as a team in that game with Braylon Bingham going 3-4, Logan Roff going 2-4 with a double , and JJ Phillips going 3-4 with a double. The Pleasantville baseball team improves to 10-0 on the season and will be back in action on Tuesday against Interstate 35.
The Trojan softball team picked up a 9-3 win over Lynnville-Sully and a 8-3 win over Grand View Christian at their home Pleasantville Baseball Tournament. Stats will be posted when they become available. The Trojan softball team improves to 6-2 on the season and will be back in action on Monday at PCM.
