The Indianola softball team swept Pella Christian in a Little Hawkeye Conference doubleheader Wednesday evening, winning 18-1 in game one and 10-0 in game two heard live on 94.3 KNIA.

The Indians bats found green in game one, scoring 11 runs in the second inning, then hitting three homeruns in the third inning, one each by Dana Blake, Alexa Guyer, and Sully Downey, and plated another in the fourth, which was answered by an Eagles run on an RBI single by Jessa Devries, but the game ended after the fourth. Ava Tichy got the win in the circle.

Game two saw Indianola plate five unearned runs after a PC error to lead 5-0 in the first, highlighted by a Tichy two-RBI single. The Eagles threatened in the first and the second but were unable to score, seeing an out on the basepaths stop a promising inning in the first and a flyout with the bases loaded in the second. The Indians added four more in the fourth, taking advantage of another defensive miscue and a two-RBI single by Tessa Gripp, the plated another with an RBI single by Bria Boell in the fourth to end the game early.

Rachel Kacmarynski went 2-2 at the plate for the Eagles, while Downey and Boell each went 2-3 driving in two, and Ashley Schultz got the win in the circle pitching four scoreless innings.

Pella Christian falls to 2-10 on the season and will travel to Lynnville-Sully tonight, while Indianola is now 8-5 on the season and hosts Pella tonight.
The game will be broadcast live on 94.3 KNIA and 92.1 KRLS, with Andrew Swadner on the call. Pregame coverage begins at 7pm, with first pitch scheduled for 7:15.
