The Pella Christian summer sports squads were scheduled to compete at PCM Thursday night, but both games were rained out, and now the Eagles will head to Indianola to wrap up Little Hawkeye Conference play tonight.
The Eagles baseball team will look to finish the week off by improving to 3-2 in the last five games, after earning wins against Class 2A #2 Pleasantville and Oskaloosa, while dropping games to Pella and Oskaloosa. The Indians meanwhile are looking to secure sole possession of the conference title, having won their last three games to improve to 22-4 overall and 14-3 in the league. The two baseball squads last met on June 11th, with Indianola taking both ends of a doubleheader on Eagle Lane 16-5 and 11-1.
On the softball diamond, Pella Christian is looking to finish the week strong, after going 1-3 in their four games earlier this week. The Eagles fell to Pella on Monday and Pleasantville on Tuesday, followed by a doubleheader split with Oskaloosa on Wednesday. The Indians softball team is looking to get back on track and stay above .500 on the season, after dropping their last four games to ranked teams. Indianola only played two games this week, falling in both games of a twinbill to Class 4A #3 Norwalk on Wednesday, while finishing last week with a pair of losses to 4A #2 Dallas Center-Grimes. The Indians controlled the early June doubleheader against Pella Christian, winning both games 18-1 and 10-0.
