The Warren County Fair Board held a ribbon cutting ceremony Sunday celebrating the renovation of two historic barns on the fairgrounds. Fair Director Jo Reynolds tells KNIA News the fair board wanted to find a way to preserve the history of the buildings while giving them a makeover, and they feel they found a way to do that.
“Even the builders said, the bones inside were intact and in no way needed to come down. We knew that future generations really needed to see the wooden barn and not a tin shed. That was one of my main goals and there were many people involved in this project. We can give credit to one donor who gave $50,000 if you can match it. Not only did we match it, we exceeded it.”
The building renovations include the installation of board and batten siding.
