The Jasper County Road Department says two weather-related road closures that began on Friday just northeast of Mitchellville, and just north of the Marion County Line south of Galesburg, are ending today. Both South 12th Avenue West from the Polk County line to West 128th Street, and South 126th Avenue East between County Line Road and East 84th Street South, were closed due to water from the South Skunk River encroaching onto them. The re-opening by Mitchellville involves just over two and a half miles of South 12th Avenue West, while the South 126th Avenue East re- opening covers 1.7 miles. The Jasper County Road Department has also indicated wet weather and a high water level has delayed completion of the North 107th Avenue West Bridge project over Clear Creek, until this Friday, August 8th.
