It will be acceptable to get rid of televisions and other electronic equipment, as well as appliances and scrap metal, at the Newton Sanitary Landfill on Saturday, September 6th. The City of Newton is hosting a recycling event for those items from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. A-Line Iron and Metals will be on-site to collect a wide variety of heating and cooling equipment, yard equipment, household items and appliances, and electronics including:

Heating & Cooling: rooftop units, air conditioners, condensers, chillers, heat pumps, furnaces, water heaters

Yard & Equipment: riding and walk-behind mowers, bikes/trikes, garden tillers, pool ladders, grills (no tanks), snow blowers, weed-eaters, pool heaters, drills, metal chairs/furniture

Household Items & Appliances: stoves, washers/dryers, refrigerators (no food), deep freezes (no food), microwaves, dishwashers, exercise equipment, garbage disposals, metal sinks, trash compactors, garage doors & openers, metal bathtubs, vacuums, blenders/mixers/toasters, pots/pans/electric skillets, fans, saws, metal cabinets, lead-acid batteries

Electronics (recycled for free): copiers, printers, fax machines, phones, cell phones, phone systems, computer towers/servers, VCRs, DVD/Blu-ray players, video game systems, camcorders, cameras, stereo systems, speakers, calculators, TVs, and computer monitors.
