
Starting next week, Mid-Iowa Community Action’s WIC Clinic in Newton will be at a new location. The non-profit organization serving children and families is moving the clinic from the Newton Salvation Army at 301 North 2nd Avenue East, to the lower level of Capstone Behavior Healthcare, at 1123 First Avenue East. Clinic participants should use the First Avenue East entrance.
The WIC Clinic is for the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children. The program provides nutrition counseling, parenting advice, breastfeeding support, food assistance, and referrals. Program information and eligibility requirements can be obtained through Mid-Iowa Community Action, based in Marshalltown. The Administrative Office can be reached at 641-752-7162.
