The only candidate on the November 4th ballot for an At-Large seat on the Newton City Council is Jeff Holschuh. He is a 15-year resident of Newton, and the Business Services and Marketing Vice President at Advantage Credit Union in Newton. Holschuh is a member of the City of Newton’s Planning and Zoning Commission, and has served on the Board of Directors for the Greater Newton Area Chamber of Commerce. He says being a City Council member is something he’s thought about since his early 20s, when he was still living in Illinois. As a City Council member, Holschuh feels his strongest assets would be his financial background and experience dealing with the public.

“I work in finance. I work at the credit union. I have been there for a number of years. So I realize dollars and cents, and what you can and can not pay for. And working with the public is something I do pretty regularly.”

The At-Large Newton City Council seat Holschuh is running for is currently held by Randy Ervin, who is the only candidate on the ballot to replace retiring Mayor, Evelyn George. Hear more from At-Large Newton City Council Candidate Jeff Holschuh on today’s Let’s Talk Newton.
