It’s officially the fall sports postseason in its entirety at Pella High School, and a big week remains ahead for several Dutch programs with championship aspirations.
On Tuesday, the #3 Pella volleyball team is aiming for its 12th-ever appearance at the state tournament, hosting Waverly-Shell Rock. Pella was the 2nd place team in 2024 and aims to return to Coralville to run it back to the finals. First serve is at 7 p.m. at Pella High School. The match can be watched on Pella Dutch Live on YouTube.
On Halloween, the #1 girls and #2 boys from the Pella Cross Country programs are chasing top finishes. The three-time defending state champion girls and two-time individual champion Marissa Ferebee are primed to extend those streaks at Lakeside Golf Course in Fort Dodge at 2 p.m., with the boys seeking a fourth consecutive top three finish to follow, as 2023 state champion Canaan Dunham working to reclaim the crown in a deep Class 3A field of individuals.
That night, the #4 ranked Pella football team begins what it hopes is a home road back to Cedar Falls and the UNI Dome against new opponent Davenport North. If the Dutch win, they will host the winner of Western Dubuque and Decorah next week. Live coverage this Friday begins at 6:30 p.m. on the KRLS2 Stream/Pella Dutch Live.
