The Pella School Board has invited state lawmakers to the annual legislative roundtable work session this evening. Each year, the board has reached out to state representatives and senators that represent the Pella Community School District to discuss issues ahead of the upcoming legislative session. This year, the board will provide a specific request for Senator Ken Rozenboom and Representative Barb Kniff McCulla, with presentations by teachers planned. Following the hour with lawmakers, the board will review the certified enrollment number for 2025-26 and consider new course proposals and college course offerings for the 2026-27 school year. Additionally, the board will consider approval of the Washington D.C. trip proposal for the Pella Marching Dutch and schedule a public hearing on November 10th to extend the bus route time for Bus #9 by 15 minutes. The Pella School Board meeting begins at 5:30 this evening in the Pella High School library.
