An unfamiliar foe awaits the #3 Pella volleyball team as it looks to make it a dozen trips to the final eight tonight in the Class 4A regional final against Waverly-Shell Rock.

The Dutch have high hopes of making another run next week at the state tournament in Coralville following their 2024 runner-up finish. The Go-Hawks are 20-20 overall and were in the Class 4A rankings until the final poll was released, and swept Webster City last week to advance. Junior Lizzy Frazell is the top offensive threat, with 288 kills ranking as the 13th most in Class 4A.

The Dutch and Go-Hawks have some recent history, with WSR leading the series in the Bound era 3-1 — the teams last met at a 2022 tournament.
