The Pella Marching Dutch have received a $16,837.32 Youth Sports and Recreational Grant from Prairie Meadows to help purchase new marching band uniforms.
This funding will be used to replace aging uniforms and ensure all current and future students are outfitted as the program grows. Over 25% of Pella High School students are involved in the Marching Dutch, and the new uniforms will help maintain the band’s tradition of excellence at local and national events — including their upcoming performance in the 250th Independence Day Parade in Washington D.C. on July 4, 2026. The new uniforms will be officially debuted during the 2026 Tulip Time Parades on May 7-9, 2026.
“We are incredibly grateful to Prairie Meadows for this investment in our students,” said Director Dameon Place. “Modern, comfortable uniforms that reflect the quality of our program are essential for the confidence and pride of our 200+ band members. This grant helps us continue Pella’s legacy of excellence for years to come.”
The Prairie Meadows Community Betterment Grant Program supports important recreational and educational projects across Central Iowa. The Pella Marching Dutch look forward to showcasing the new uniforms at upcoming performances.
