Trick or treating in Indianola will be tomorrow night on Halloween, October 31st beginning this year. City of Indianola Communications Director Aaron Young tells KNIA News the council made the transition earlier this year, along with a number of other Des Moines area communities, to make it a uniform night of kids and families out in the community.
“The Indianola City Council passed a resolution back on July 21st, and this move forgoes that Beggars Night tradition that once was. For any future planning purposes, the resolution allows the Chief of Police to make the shift if the trick or treating needs to be moved for the sake of inclement weather, poor weather conditions, things of that sort.”
