Local authors Marijka Michmershuizen and Carol Van Klompenburg will perform excerpts from their books and talk about their writing journeys at the first Wijn and Words event at The Wijn House in downtown Pella on November 18th.
Wijn and Words has two scheduled seatings for the event on November 18th, one from 4 to 6 p.m. and the other from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. The two events will be identical and include a performance from each writer’s books. Van Klompenburg says they will also talk about what went into writing their books and that there will be a time for discussions.
“Part of it will be presentations from the books, but we will also talk about our writing journeys and our writing processes, and we’ll give people a chance to ask questions if they have questions they’d like answered. And part of the words part also will be that people will have a chance for casual conversation in an intimate atmosphere.”
Tickets for the event are $15 and covers the cost of a glass of wine along with a choice of one book by either Marijka or Carol, and the book selection will take place at the event in exchange for the ticket. Tickets for the event are on sale now, and can be purchased at The Wijn House (615 Franklin Street) or at Promotions by Design (604 Franklin Street).
