Indianola Parks and Recreation is hosting the next edition of their Afternoon Adventures Series in November, featuring Civil War Medal of Honor recipients. Kathy Kester with the City of Indianola tells KNIA News speaker Jeff Kluever is a life-long student of the American Civil War, and will tell the story of fourteen Black men who earned the Medal of Honor for their heroic charge against Confederate earthworks outside Richmond, Virginia. Kester also said attendees can learn the story of former slaves and freemen who fought valiantly for a country that did not yet consider them citizens.

The Afternoon Adventures Speaker Series will be on November 18th from 1-2pm.
