Another day filled with history as the wire-to-wire #1 Pella girls capped off their fourth consecutive state team championship in Fort Dodge on Friday.
Pella scored 31 team points, the 3rd lowest ever at the state meet one year after they broke the all-time record. The Dutch were led by the now-three time reigning individual champion Marissa Ferebee, who is just the 11th Iowa girl to win at least three titles in her career.
Elsie Brenneman was 4th, Lizzy Vande Voort placed 7th, and Ruth Dunham was 9th to all earn First Team All-State honors. Carleigh Altwine placed 16th to round out the scoring.
Pella becomes just the 6th team to win four consecutive titles, joining: Iowa City High (1989-1993 – five), Tipton (2003-06), Union (2007-2010), Dowling (2007-2011 – five), Mid-Prairie (2017-2021 – five).
