The Indianola city Council met in regular session Monday evening. The council received a presentation from the Mid-Iowa Planning Alliance, and appointed Jess Lundquist to the Indianola Public Arts Commission and Sue Edwards to the Board of Adjustment.

The council also held hearings to determine a pair of nuisances, one located at the intersection of N. 7th Court and E. Lincoln Avenue for tall weeds and grass, and another at 1012 East Euclid Avenue for excessive amounts of junk alongside the garage, back yard, and back deck. The board determined a nuisance at N. 7th Court and E. Lincoln Ave to mow the yard, and determined a nuisance at 1012 East Euclid Ave in a 5-1 vote with councilwoman Beach voting against, and council directed staff to continue working with the homeowner towards abatement. There are no fines that are issued with the determination.

The council also approved a preliminary plat for Pickard Estates, and a plat of survey request.
