The Pleasantville Football Squad could not get going in a 49-7 setback against Regina in the class 1A quarterfinals on Friday night heard live on KNIA. The Trojans fumbled the opening kickoff and four plays later Regina scored to make a 7-0, and dominated from there. The Trojans found themselves trailing 21-0 in the 2nd quarter when the only score of the game came on a Braylon Bingham 16 yard run to cut the lead to 21-7, but Regina gained back all momentum on the ensuing possession to go up 28-7 at halftime. Coach Mack Jorth told KNIA Sports the bad start did not help things early on.

Jorth: “Couldn’t quite anything going and couldn’t stop them. In the first half we were playing physical and had guys in the right places and just couldn’t make the tackle or complete the play.

Bingham led the Pleasantville ground attack with 137 yards and a touchdown he also passed for 143. Brayden Kennedy led in receiving with 54 yards on five receptions. Pleasantville finishes the season at 9-2.
