The Newton School Board will be gauging interest about offering an early retirement plan during Monday’s regular Board meeting. Newton Superintendent Tom Messinger says the administration has been asked by employees about providing an early retirement option. There was no plan offered this year. In the past, the Newton School Board has approved some early retirement incentives as a budgetary tool. Messenger says the discussion is meant to provide information to the board and discover if there is any interest in offering a plan or not.

Updates on the construction projects at Aurora Heights and Thomas Jefferson Elementary Schools will also be provided during Monday’s 6:30 p.m. meeting. The Newton School Board meets in the large conference room at the EJH Beard Administration Building at 1302 First Avenue East.
