Indianola will be the site of multiple Veterans Day events Tuesday, honoring veterans for their service in our nation’s armed forces.

American Legion Post 165 will host a flag raising ceremony, in addition to the playing of Taps at the Junior Edwards statue at the IOOF Cemetery.

Victory Christian Academy will host their annual Veterans Day Program, with students performing a folding of the flag ceremony, singing patriotic songs, and attendees being awarded Quilts of Valor and breakfast provided by the Indianola HyVee. The program is from 7-10am.

The Indianola Hy-Vee serves breakfast at their store location, and Store Director Nate Fehl tells KNIA News the free breakfast is one of the most important days of the year for all Hy-Vee employees, and the Indianola community has always embraced and supported the veterans in meaningful ways.

Veterans Day is next Tuesday, November 11th.
