Knoxville Runner Isaac Rankin took part in the NXR Heartland Regional Championships in Sioux Falls South Dakota on Sunday running against nearly 300 other runners from across the Midwest, Rankin placed 81st overall in a time of 16:26. Rankin undoubtedly leaves a legacy of running success at Knoxville and will go down as one of the greatest to ever do it. His coach, Michael Splavec, tells KNIA/KRLS Sports Rankin has likely paved the way for future Panthers to potentially follow in his footsteps.
Splavec: “One of the few Knoxville runners that’s ever been ranked when they did those rankings back in 2012. But also he leaves a huge legacy of hard work and dedication and putting himself out to achieve all of that.”
Rankin ended his high school career for the Panthers with back-to-back All-State honors with a 10th place finish at the State Meet.
