Local HyVee stores in Marion, Warren, and Jasper Counties are helping those in need the rest of this week with community meals. Kids under the age of 12 will eat free, while adults will have a choice of meals for $3.

Indianola HyVee Store Director Nate Fehl tells KNIA News this full hot meal is to help those who are in need and those who may have had their SNAP benefits paused due to the government shutdown.

HyVee stores will also give the option to round up at checkout that will be given to local food banks. Those in need can eat community meals today and tomorrow from 4-7pm.
