The Pleasantville girls wrestling team opened their season at the Sigourney Keota Tournament Tuesday night, and took 12th place with a team score of 57 points. 

Josie Howrey and Amelia Latch were the top finishing Trojans in the meet, with each taking third place in their respective weight classes. Howrey opened the 120 lbs. bracket with a pair of victories by fall. After falling in the semifinals, Howrey bounced back to claim her third victory by fall on the night in the third place match. In the 135 lbs. bracket, Latch also opened the tournament with a pair of victories by fall, before dropping the semifinal match and rallying to get a third win by fall in the third place match. Pleasantville’s other place finisher on the night was Addie Koenig in fifth place at 155 lbs. After receiving a first round bye, Koenig fell in her quarterfinal match, but responded with three consecutive victories to take fifth. Addie’s first win came by fall, while her final two victories came by medical forfeit and a sudden victory.
