The Grand Opening of the Maytag Park Holiday Lights Display in Newton has been delayed due to this weekend’s winter weather. The grand opening, which was set to take place tonight, is now scheduled for Friday, December 5th from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The annual showing of nearly 400 lighted Christmas displays attracts a lot of local and area residents. The displays will be lit every night through New Year’s Day from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m., weather permitting.
