A newly-elected Pella city council member is starting a second non-consecutive term in the leadership role. Calvin Bandstra was elected to the At Large Seat held by the retiring Mark De Jong. Bandstra served on the council from 2020-2023 before losing in his Ward 3 election bid that year. He looks forward to working on several projects aimed at keeping Pella growing.
“Pella is a great city to be involved in, to see what’s going on, and to be a part of that is something I’m really looking forward to,” he says. “It’s especially gratifying for me to see the new indoor recreation center starting to come up, that was something I worked on in my first term and laid some groundwork for.”
Hear more from Bandstra on a special two-part feature about outgoing Councilmember De Jong on Let’s Talk Pella next week.
