The Pleasantville boys basketball team defeated Woodward-Granger at home Friday night as the girls team came up short in a West Central Conference varsity doubleheader.

The Trojan boys went into halftime with a 20 point lead but the Hawks would close the gap in the third quarter to bring the game within six. In the fourth quarter, the Pleasantville boys were able to hang on for a 71-64 win. The Trojans were led in scoring by Braylon Bingham who had 37 points and Drake Elliott who had 15. The Pleasantville boys improve to 8-7 overall.

The Trojan girls had a back and forth contest as they trailed by just one point at halftime. In the third quarter, Pleasantville outscored the Hawks by three but the game slipped away in the fourth as they dropped the contest 60-56. The girls were led in scoring by Liv Klootwyk who had 19 points and Taylor Perkins who had 17. The Trojan girls fall to 6-10 overall.

The Pleasantville basketball teams will be back in action today on the road at Chariton with the girls game starting at 4:15 pm and the boys game to follow.
